ROBBERS ROOST REMEMBERED

Seabrook Plantation is built on the former Russell Breeden designed golf course many remember as Robbers Roost. Taking full advantage of the rich landscape, Seabrook Plantation carefully preserves the course's undulating characteristics, ponds, centuries-old hardwoods and active wildlife. It was 1969 when Breeden's famed Robbers Roost Golf Club opened for play. Owned by a prominent North Myrtle Beach family, the Tilghman's, it was among the first twelve courses along the Grand Strand to open. Fondly referred to as "The Roost," the course was featured in Golf Digest and rated as one of the top 50 courses in South Carolina by GolfWeek in 1989. As more and more golf courses designed by some of the PGA Tour's greatest were added to the repertoire of Grand Strand courses, demand for some of the older favorites began to diminish. Recognizing the unique qualities of this tract along with its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, the Tilghman family acknowledged the highest and best use of the property was mixed-use development, hence, opening the door for Seabrook Plantation to become a reality.
